  1. Btw adopted identical twins raised in different families across US weight almost identically despite totally different diet+exercise environment. So there you go.

  2. What about the people. The people with feelings that may watch this and say, wow, gee I always wanted to be on TV but not on 60 seconds in the b roll of fat people walking up stairs.

  3. Shrinking people’s waistlines isn’t going to resolve all the other problems our modern diet causes. These pills can help in the short term, but so can quitting sugar and processed foods. Ultimately, these will only delay the necessary changes we need to make to the systems that are damaging our climate and our health.

  4. Many of you right now, life’s got you up against the ropes. And just because it’s bad now, doesn’t mean it always will be. You can’t give up now just because of a little pain. You’ll get through this. It’s much sweeter on the otherside, but to get there you must not give in. No matter what.

  5. I love 60 Minutes but this was one of the most appalling pieces I’ve ever seen on the show.

    1. Nice job, 60 Minutes, of worsening the supply and demand imbalance in the service of your ad sponsors!

    2. The idea that obesity is mostly genetic is absurd on its face. If that was the case, we wouldn’t see such a massive increase in obesity in the span of 1-2 generations.

    3. Obesity is a disease of the brain? Sure, so is racism. You could take a pill or, you know, accept your mistakes and learn from them. To anyone who says I’m shaming the obese, well, maybe I am. Is there nothing left to be ashamed of? Almost all bad behaviors can be caused in part by poor parenting, mental illness and/or trauma. Does that absolve us of every mistake we make?

  6. So basically the pharmaceutical cartels are ensuring their profits skyrocket. The insurance companies also want to make sure they don’t spend more money than the bare minimum they are required to. You have to love the US and our for-profit healthcare system. It is so sad how a media program has to shame insurance in order to get a medication covered.

  7. If obesity is a brain disease, how come the US has the most obese population of any western nation? The US is a country where chemicals and junk food make up most of people’s diet. There may be a rare case where someone truly eats healthy which means making sure they are consuming no chemical additives and eating pure food, mainly plant based.

  8. I see the hate trolls already. I don’t see anyone commenting on the rich people, who don’t need the drug. These are people who are taking the drug to lose 5 lbs, not 50. What kind of message is that sending? What hypocrits.

  9. Evolution offers humanity a future as dirt.

No one is wondering what God requires from them. He requires us to do what is right.
He placed a conscience in our minds which clearly warns us before we take any wrong actions or make any selfish choices.

He demonstrated his power to all mankind through a gigantic planet full of amazing creatures on which he has placed us.
We live here with the clear knowledge that our stay is temporary.

    Surrender while you can.

  10. Things Jesus said:

“The world hates me because I testify about it that it’s works are evil”

“Don’t be surprised when the world hates you, it hated me first”

“If any man looks at a woman with lust he has already committed adultery in his heart with her.”

“Unless you eat my body and drink my blood you have no life in you”

“Those that believe the Son have eternal life, those that do not obey the Son will not see life but the wrath of God abides on them”

“Unless you believe in me you will die in your sins”

“Unless you repent you will likewise perish”

Read your Bible or you will be misinformed.
