  2. What’s your take on high amounts of protein and stress on the kidneys and high amounts of protein turning to glucose and raising your a1c or high blood sugars in the am?

  3. What does a 61 year old woman who exercises 6 days a week? Three grown children and thyroid issues lose fat? I do high intensity training.

  4. Nice synopsis! To continue the car analogy, when you park it in the garage, the car stays on (i.e. basal / resting metabolic rate), and a healthy metabolism will adjust to the fuel intake (and many people who struggle with weight have an issue with this part of the energy expenditure equation).

  8. Fats are also used to build hormones … and they are essential. So sure, fats and carbs are both fuel, but one is essential to hormones and brain health and the other just serves as a crappy fuel that does damage (AGEs, insulin resistance, metabolic damage, heart disease) in excess amounts.
